The effectiveness of teaching study strategies on the self-efficacy of Alborz University of Medical Sciences students Abstract: Introduction: Having appropriate and correct study skills is an essential step for educational interventions, especially in the field of medical sciences. The present study was conducted with the aim of the effectiveness of teaching study strategies on the self-efficacy of Alborz University of Medical Sciences students. Method: The method of this research was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the present study consisted of all dental students in Alborz University of Medical Sciences in the academic year 2017-2018, 30 people were selected by targeted random sampling and placed in two groups of 15 people, experimental and control. In this research, in order to implement the intervention, Tutoli's study skills training package (2012) was used, and Morris' self-efficacy questionnaire (2001) was used to measure self-efficacy. In order to analyze the data, univariate analysis of covariance test was used. Results: The research results showed that teaching study skills has a significant effect on increasing the self-efficacy of dental students in social, academic and emotional components (p=0.0001). As a result, based on the obtained results, it can be said that the use of correct study skills and methods can be effective in the development of students' self-efficacy. Conclusion: Considering the importance of study strategies for dentistry students, holding training courses in this regard can be effective in improving and improving the learning process as well as students' academic self-efficacy.
