The Effect of Use Social Networks on the Girls Students Academic Achievement

Background and Aims: Due to the increasing use of social networks among people, especially students, so research in this area is necessary. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of using social networks on the academic achievement of students of Islamic Azad University.

Methods: The research method is surveyed. The study population included all students of Islamic Azad University Izeh that were enrolled in the academic year 95-94 that about 100 people were randomly selected. To measure the academic achievement of students in the last semester students and to measure the use of social networks used questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed through the software spss and using one-way ANOVA.

Results: There is a significant difference between the academic achievement of students that ordinary users of social networks (M= 15/15 and SD= 55.1) and to social networks mild addiction (mean 13/15 and SD 01/2) and have social networks severe addiction (M= 84/14 and SD=72/1) (005/0> p)

Conclusions: Spending too much time on social networks cause to fatiguing in class and Reducing the hour's study and resulted in the academic achievement of students.
