Compilation of causal model of the relationship between academic perfectionism and academic proclivity of medical students: with the role of mediation of emotional self-awareness

Abstract 
Background and Aims: According to the important role of the psychological variables on students various dimensions of health and academic performance, The purpose of the present study was to Compilation of causal model of the relationship between academic perfectionism and academic proclivity of medical students with the role of mediation of emotional self-awareness.
Methods: Correlation research method was structural equation model. The statistical population of the study consisted of all female students of Medical science University of Kermanshah in the academic year of 215-16, among which 140 were selected as sample size. The instruments used in this study included Identity and Felt Educational Perfectionism Questionnaire (1991), Solomon and Root Blum (1984) and Scholar Enrollment Questionnaire Franklin and Longford (2002). For data analysis, structural modeling and partial least squares algorithm (PLS) and software (SPSS) were used. Instruments were worthy of reliability and reliability. In data analysis, structural equation modeling was used to study the causal model between variables.
Results:The findings showed that academic perfectionism directly affects academic proclivity and emotional self-awareness. Also, emotional self-awareness has a negative and significant relationship with academic procrastination. The value (GOF=0/44) indicates a general and robust fit of the research model, which suggests fitting the data with the proposed research model.
Conclusions: According to the findings of this study, it can be said that educational perfectionism has an effect on academic proclivity and emotional self-awareness of students. And the need for more educational authorities to pay attention to the importance of discussions and psychological interventions and counseling in improving their performance and improving the health of their students.
