Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of SPC on the clinical performance of operating room students. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted by Participation 64 operating room students. The students were selected through convenience sampling and were divided into two experimental (N=32) and control groups (N=32) randomly. The control group completed their apprenticeship in a common method while the intervention group completed their apprenticeship using the SPC. The data collection tool was a researcher-made performance clinical checklist. The data were analyzed by using the independent T, paired T, Chi-Square and Mann-Whitney tests. Results: The findings of this study showed that there was no significant difference between the clinical performance mean score of the control group before and after the intervention (P > 0.05). However, the clinical performance mean score of the intervention group increased significantly after intervention as compared with before intervention (P <0.001). Also, the results showed no significant relationship between demographic characteristics and clinical performance (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Surgery preference card improves the clinical performance of students. Therefore, it is recommended to be used as a supplementary training tool for teaching the operating room students.
