This study was conducted with the aim of determining the necessary data sets in the design of an electronic logbook for the internship of students in the field of health information technology.</span></span></span></span><br> <span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span sans-serif="" style="font-family:Calibri,"><b><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">Methods:</span></b><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times=""> The present study is a descriptive, applied study that was conducted in 1401 by a cross-sectional method. The research community is the faculty members of the health information technology and medical informatics department across the country. The first step was to review the texts, compare the designed logbooks and observe the performance monitoring systems of internships in different disciplines, in order to prepare the initial draft of the necessary electronic logbook data set. In the second step, with the aim of confirming and prioritizing data elements, Delphi decision making technique was used.</span></span></span></span><br> <span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span sans-serif="" style="font-family:Calibri,"><b><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">Results:</span></b><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times=""> The proposed framework of this research, to determine the necessary data elements in the electronic log book of health information technology students in the internship period, is divided into 4 sections including management data elements with 2 axes (location, access levels), user data elements with 3 axes ( student, internship instructor, group manager), functional data elements with 6 axes (courses offered, organizers, venue, recording experiences, recording reports, evaluation) and output data elements with 2 axes (comparative charts, statistical reports ) was divided.</span></span></span></span><br> <span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span sans-serif="" style="font-family:Calibri,"><b><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">Conclusion:</span></b><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times=""> In this research, necessary data elements in the design of the electronic logbook of health information technology students were determined using the Delphi decision-making technique and a survey of experts and trainees.
