Education Strategies in Medical Sciences Educ Strategy Med Sci 2345-5284 2345-5284 2009 2 1 Rapid e-learning in medical education Alavi S. Sh. alavi@tums.ac.ir   Introduction. For decades, technology-based education promised to improve easier access to learning. At stable and cost-effective situations with so many learners, e-learning is the best answer. But after the universities and educational institutes rushed for using e-learning, they realized that the time and the cost of content development with good quality is more than its benefits. In the traditional e-learning approach, content development takes months and costs a lot, so that during this process the main problem and its solution may change or even disappear. Rapid prototyping or rapid e-learning is an approach for e-learning content development which tries to resolve this problem. This educational approach improved a lot, around the world.   Conclusion. By using proper keywords, electronic resources and credible scientific websites, this review article tries to find articles related to rapid e-learning and tries to present world studies’ results. Also, while showing the advantages and disadvantages of rapid e-learning, this study is aimed to present this educational approach and recommend it to educational managers in medical education area.
