Medical science education has undergone fundamental changes in recent decades due to technological advances, changing health system needs, and the spread of new learning approaches. In the meantime, psychology, due to its direct connection with mental health, behavior, and human interactions, requires dynamic, skill-based, and experience-based educational methods more than many other fields. The aim of this article is to examine new approaches in medical science education, especially psychology, and to explain the benefits and challenges of implementing these approaches.
In this article, approaches such as problem-based education, competency-based education, active learning, experiential education, and the use of new educational technologies are examined. The role of technologies such as virtual education, educational simulators, artificial intelligence, and e-learning systems in improving the quality of education is also analyzed. The results of studies show that new educational methods can increase critical thinking, problem-solving skills, communication abilities, professional readiness, and the quality of students' learning.
On the other hand, the implementation of these approaches is accompanied by challenges such as lack of technological infrastructure, educational costs, resistance to change and inequality in access to educational facilities. Despite these challenges, moving towards student-centered, skill-based and technological education is an inevitable necessity for the medical education system. Ultimately, the development and application of new educational approaches can play an important role in training capable specialists, improving the quality of medical services and improving the mental health of the community. |
