A comparative study of PhD nursing education Program in Iran and for top United State universities.

Introduction: The mission of the doctoral program in nursing is health promotion, increase national standards, faculty members empowering, knowledge development, technology transfer, increased national and international scientific cooperation, creating a dynamic, motivating scientific atmosphere.

 Methods: This descriptive-comparative study was carried out in 2016. In order to
compare components of nursing PhD program curriculum in Iran and for United State universities. data were collected by searching through the internet and compared using Bereday’s four-stage model: description, interpretation, juxtaposition and comparison.
Results: There was fundamental difference in, students' admissions and the number of units offered (educational content) in Nursing Education PhD program in US Universities and Iran.

Conclusion: The results of this study can help  program planners, teachers and those interested in a broader view of nursing to improve curriculum revision and development goals, particularly the better choice, to admissions, to the curriculum content .
