Introduction: The virtual space significantly affects the physical, mental, and social health of students. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of self-care education in the virtual space on the health dimensions (physical, mental, and social) of female students.
Methods: This applied research was a pre-test and post-test design with a control group in terms of research methodology. The statistical population of the study comprised fifth-grade students in the 1403-1402 school year in Lali city, with a total of 560 individuals based on the statistics provided by the local education department. Two classes (of 27 students each) were purposefully selected as a sample and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. After selecting the desired school (according to the research criteria), the studied classes were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. The research tool was the Goldberg and Hiller (1979) health questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by specialists, and its reliability was estimated using Cronbach's alpha of 0.812. The educational intervention was conducted over 12 sessions of 45 minutes each for the experimental group. For data analysis, the analysis of covariance test was used.
Results: The research findings showed that the impact of self-care training in virtual space on students' overall health was significant. In the dimensions of health, the highest impact was related to mental health (0.305) and the lowest impact was related to social health (0.111).
Conclusion: Self-care training in virtual space has an impactful role in increasing the overall health level of students.
