Abstract:   (13 Views)
Introduction: The present study was conducted with the aim of comparing the effects of cognitive rehabilitation and neurofeedback on working memory and processing speed in children with mathematics disorders.
Methods: The research design was a quasi-experimental, unbalanced control group with pre-test, post-test, and follow-up. The statistical population of the study was children with mathematics disorders in Tehran schools between the ages of 7 and 10 years, who were placed in three groups of 15 people using a convenience sampling method. The educational content included cognitive rehabilitation sessions and training with neurofeedback, and the data collection tools included the Integrated Visual Auditory Function (IVA) test, Wechsler Working Memory Test, and Clinical Assessment of Children. Results: The research findings showed that in the neurofeedback group, compared to the cognitive rehabilitation group, we witnessed a greater increase in working memory scores and processing speed in the follow-up phase, which indicates a greater continuation of the effectiveness of neurofeedback treatment compared to cognitive rehabilitation.
Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that neurofeedback educational content can be used to increase working memory and processing speed of children with mathematics disorders.
Keywords: Cognitive rehabilitation, neurofeedback, working memory, processing speed, mathematics disorders
