Investigating the Effect of Genuine Leadership on Organizational Virtue by Mediating Psychological Capital among Employees of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences

Background and Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of genuine leadership on organizational virtue with the mediation of psychological capital among the staff of Lorestan University. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive-correlational research method based on structural equation modeling. The statistical population consisted of all the staff of Lorestan University. The sample size was 210 using random sampling using Krejcy and Morgan tables. Data gathering tools were used as standard questionnaires of the original leadership (Walumba et al., 2008) and the organizational virtue (2004) and psychologic factors (Lotuszohmkaran, 2007). The data were analyzed using SPSS18 software, Pearson correlation coefficient and lisrel software. Results: The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between genuine leadership and organizational competence, and also psychological capital modifies the relationship between genuine leadership and organizational competence. Conclusion: The results indicate the relationship between genuine leadership and organizational virtue through the mediation of psychological capital. In other words, the existence of genuine leadership in the organization leads to organizational virtue, which results in superior behavior among employees and organizations.
