Introduction: Forward head and shoulder deformity in students is one of the most common postural abnormalities due to wrong postures and pastural habits. In this study, the effect of three methods of teaching corrective children's poetry with and without the usual corrective exercises on the forward head and shoulder posture of students has been investigated.
Methods: In this semi-experimental research, 45 male students with forward head and shoulders as a statistical sample were randomly selected in three groups: Pasteur correction only with Pasteur children's poetry, Pasteur correction only with The usual corrective exercises and Pasteur's correction were combined with Pasteur's children's poetry along with the usual corrective exercises. Photogrammetric method was used to measure head and shoulder forward. To compare the averages before and after paired t-test and to compare between groups,one-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.005 was used.
Findings: difference the pre and post-test averages between the groups showed a significant difference in head and shoulder forward angle(P=0.0001).But the changes of the averages were more in the combined group of teaching pastoral poetry along with the usual correctional exercises.
Conclusions:All three methods were effective in reducing the amount of forward head and shoulder deformity,But the combination of teaching children's pastural poetry with corrective exercises had a better effect than doing the two methods separately.therefore, teaching children's postural poetry together Corrective exercises can be recommended as a more effective method in correcting head and shoulder forward deformity.
