Analyzing the concept of tolerance and intolerance in educational fields and identifying its consequences from the perspective of primary school teachers

Introduction: Tolerance, as one of the components of professional ethics in education, has a special role in educational development and prevention of anomalies. The aim of the current research was to analyze the concept of tolerance and intolerance and to identify its consequences from the perspective of elementary school teachers..
Methods: To achieve the goal of the research, the qualitative approach and the method of documentary-library research and descriptive content analysis of the type of written text were used. The field of study of this research was the elementary school teachers of Kurdistan province in the academic years of 2017-1400 that with available sampling, 107 people were selected. The research tool was researcher-made interview.
Results: The findings showed that the concept of tolerance among primary teachers can be divided into three dimensions: moral, political and social From the semantic point of view, moral tolerance had 61 items, social tolerance had 45 items, and political tolerance had 17 items. In examples, tolerance indicators and features included these items: Moral tolerance had 114 items, social tolerance had 97 items, and political tolerance had 20 items. Finally, the consequences of intolerance included: moral tolerance with 84 cases, social tolerance with 102 cases, and political tolerance with 3 cases.
Conclusion: The results showed that teachers mainly consider tolerance to be a personal and individual concept, not a political and social one, which in case of lack of it in the educational environment of students, can be the cause of creating risky behaviors in them
