Providing a Model for Improving the Assessment System of Medical Education

Introduction: For improving the medical science education Assessment system, it needs a model that can monitor and evaluate the main components of the educational system. The purpose of this research was to provide a model for improving country's medical education assessment system.
Methods: The research was conducted in a combined or exploratory-sequential method. The qualitative part of in-depth semi-structured interviews with 10 experts reached theoretical saturation in about a month. Data analysis was used in the qualitative part of thematic analysis. The main and subcategories were organized using MAXQDA software. In the quantitative part, a researcher-made questionnaire was used for structural-interpretive modeling. The quantitative statistical population is all students, graduates, faculty members and professors of medical sciences. The partial least squares method is used in the quantitative part. The sample size was 364 people. For data analysis, SPSS version 26 software was used to perform data pre-processing, including the calculation of descriptive statistics and for inferential statistics in this research, structural equation model or Smart PLS software was used.
Results: The result showed that there were 9 variables in the model and they have one or more relationships with other model variables. Structural-interpretive modeling method was used to present the initial model for improving the assessment system of medical education. that there were 9 variables in the model and all of them had a significant relationship with other variables of the model.
Conclusion: Accordingly, the components related to policymaking and macro orientations and the resources and infrastructure of the educational program have the greatest impact on the improvement of the medical education assessment system and the current model.
