The clinical education environment is a place to develop students' clinical skills to enter their work community in the future. There are several factors related to the inefficiency of the internship, one of which is the lack of a coach. The aim of this study was to compare the performance and satisfaction of undergraduate operating room students of Alborz University of Medical Sciences in 1399 from the traditional training method of clinical instructor (and the method of employing students in clinical team training (peer education method) Was performed.
Materials
The present study was an educational intervention that was conducted  in 1399 for undergraduate students in Alborz Medical Sciences Operating Room. Sampling in this study was by census method and 82 undergraduate operating room students in the 5th and 7th semesters studying at Alborz University of Medical Sciences participated in it. Data were collected through a separate researcher-made questionnaire. Which included the demographic information section and the evaluation section of the relevant teacher in the internship in five areas (discipline, communication, motivation, training and evaluation) were obtained. In this study, descriptive statistical tests and Mann-Whitney, Chi-square, Pearson correlation coefficient and t-test were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 22.
Results:
The results of this study showed that students' satisfaction with the relevant internship department when using the instructor for training was higher than the peer education method. Students were significant in four areas of regulation, communication, motivation, education and evaluation (p <0.001). They were more satisfied with their coaching professors than their peers.
Conclusion:
Due to the dissatisfaction of operating room students with the capabilities of peer methods  in the four areas of communication, motivation, training and evaluation, it can be concluded that the peer education method can be useful as a facilitator of  training if implemented more correctly.
