Investigation the professional competencies for virtual education: A qualitative study

Introduction: Virtual education in crisis such as corona virus pandemic is very important. Thus, teachers should earn necessary competencies for virtual education. The aim of this research was Investigation the professional competencies of guidance school teachers for virtual education teachers.
Methods: Research method was qualitative method with formal content analyses. Population was documents and records (in Persian between 2013-2021) related to professional competencies for virtual education teachers and specialists of curriculum, education and psychology in Golestan province. Sample were 16 documents and 13 specialists of curriculum, education and psychology that selected by purposely sampling and saturation rule. Instruments were writing fiches and semi-structured interview with specialists. For accomplish the study, studied the documents and interviewed with specialists and analysis content of texts and interviews by qualitative content analysis. In order to reliability used transformability and confirmability.
Results: By analysis of contents and coding data, extracted 59 concept, 12 subcategories and 4 basic category. Basic categories include technical skills, teaching and learning activities, cognitive skills and attitudes and characteristics.
Conclusions: It's desirable in selection of guidance school teachers for virtual teaching pay attention to competencies for virtual education and if teachers didn't have this competencies they should gain thems.
