Identifying the challenges of developing innovative leadership in quality education organizations

Introduction: All organizations need new ideas and new solutions for survival and progress. Managers, as one of the main members of educational organizations, have a great role in this field, and by creating and continuing the flow of innovation in educational organizations, they prevent stagnation and help to reduce and resolve problems. Therefore, the current research was conducted with the aim of identifying the challenges of developing innovative leadership in educational organizations with a qualitative approach.
Methods: The present research was conducted in terms of objective, practical and with a qualitative approach. The target group of the current research was government education managers and experts in this field. Using the purposeful and snowball sampling method, 16 government education managers and 5 experts in this field were selected as samples. Semi-structured exploratory interview was used for data collection and data analysis was done by thematic analysis method.
Results: After analyzing the data from the interviews, the total of free codes extracted from the content of the interviews was 124 codes, which were classified into 16 similar concepts and finally the key challenges affecting the development of innovative leadership. In educational organizations, they were categorized into 8 main themes including factors: economic factors, cultural and value factors, organizational factors, infrastructure factors, equipment and facilities, educational factors, management factors, individual factors and policy factors.
Conclusion: Based on the findings of the research, it can be concluded that educational organizations are facing many complications and challenges at different levels. And they need efficient, creative and innovative managers and leaders who can recognize these challenges and play an influential role in the development and improvement of the organization's performance with proper management.
