Introduction:The COVID-19pandemic has affected all of the life aspects, especially higher education services globally. The aim of this study was to evaluate the attitude of faculty members and students of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences towards the performance of virtual education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods:This work was a descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study. During the academic year of 2020-2021, 384 students and 116 faculty members of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences were studied. The data collection tool in this study were standard questionnaires which were sent to faculty members and students via social networks. The students and faculty members attitude were assessed using questionnaires which had 60 questions in 5 scales and 23 questions in 7 categories, respectively. Results:The results showed that the faculty members attitude towards the "level of supporting the student” regarding the performance of virtual education is suitable (69.12%). Nonetheless, they did not have a hopeful attitude towards "e-learning program contents" and "e-learning software", while students had a moderate attitude towards the performance of e-learning. Thus, the highest and lowest means were related to the "interest in e-learning continuity" and "usability" categories respectively. Conclusions:To improve the performance of virtual education, developing the necessary infrastructures such as expanding and increasing the bandwidth, production of interaction-based educational soft wares, applying the experiences which gained during this period, as well as holding continuous courses and workshops for faculty members andstudents seem to be essential.
