Results: Based on the data analysis, the pattern of academic harm in the process of choosing a major to enter the university was determined. In this model, harmful values and limiting beliefs were chosen as the main theme. The causal conditions were problems of interest and desire, misperception of ability and talent, defective interactions in the family, insufficient motivation, and interference of needs. Five main categories are the ambiguity of job conditions and future of employment, cultural-structural problems, defective education system, legislative gap, weak monitoring system, and imbalance in the social status of majors as underlying conditions. And the components of deficiency and lack of information and sources of knowledge and obstacles and limitations caused by schools were selected as intervention factors.
