Design and Validation of a Model to Improve the Climate of Educational Departments in Islamic Azad University of Medical Sciences

Introduction: The present study was conducted with the aim of designing a model for evaluating the implementation of the Transparency Policy in Iran with a case study of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
Methods: The type of research was a sequential mixed data type with an exploratory approach, which in terms of nature included meta-synthesis/Delphi stages in the qualitative part and descriptive with survey/correlation stages in the quantitative part. The statistical population in the qualitative part and meta-synthesis stage included all theoretical foundations and related background of domestic and foreign databases, and in the Delphi stage, 20 participants [experts] were selected by purposive non-random sampling method; also, in the quantitative part, the statistical population was all employees of the universities of medical sciences of Islamic Azad University, of which 254 respondents were selected by stratified random sampling method. The data collection method in the qualitative part and meta-synthesis stage was a systematic review of the literature, and in the Delphi stage, a worksheet, and also in the quantitative part, a 60-item researcher-made questionnaire taken from the qualitative part for internal validity and a 34-item questionnaire for assessing the validity of the model. In the qualitative part and in both stages, as well as in the quantitative part, validity and reliability were examined, and the results indicated the validity and reliability of the research tools. The data analysis method in the qualitative part and the meta-synthesis stage was systematic analysis, and in the Delphi stage, the Kendall agreement coefficient, and in the quantitative part, it included descriptive and inferential statistics [confirmatory factor analysis and one-sample t-test], with Maxqda-V2018, Spss-V23, and Smart Pls-V3 software.
Results :The findings showed that improving the atmosphere of educational groups in the universities of medical sciences of Islamic Azad University included 8 main components in the group atmosphere dimension [including: teamwork spirit, enthusiasm, intimacy, consideration for others, participation, influence, emphasis on outputs, and avoiding burnout], three macro-influential factors [managerial, educational, and structural], and two categories of key outcomes [at the faculty and student levels].
Conclusion: The results of the study showed that managerial, educational, and structural factors play an important role in improving the atmosphere of educational departments of medical universities at Islamic Azad University.
