Identifying challenges and solutions to improve the quality of specialized assistant training

Introduction: Although the assistants are training for the specialty course, they do a lot of daily patient care. This research was done with the aim of identifying the challenges and solutions to improve the quality of specialized assistant training.
Methods: The present qualitative study was conducted using the content analysis method. Examples of research articles on the subject of residency training, residency programs, and residency program problems. 26 articles were selected for final review. Open coding of articles was done using MAXQDA10 software. In the next step, the codes were grouped based on conceptual and semantic similarity, and each class was named with titles that indicated its characteristics.
Findings: Challenges affecting the improvement of the quality of residency training with 5 themes (unreasonable educational expectations from the residents, job burnout of the residents, disruption during practical learning, complexity of teaching hospitals, nonstandard training program) and solutions to improve the quality of residency training. with 11 themes (organized supervision of assistants' educational and therapeutic work, effective teaching of professors, learning using simulation, training based on experience and practice, teaching safety and public health care to assistants, giving educational feedback, designing a standard educational program, Conducting continuous accreditation, selfdirected and independent learning training, reducing the therapeutic workload, creating a balance between educational and therapeutic matters) were identified.
Conclusion: The training of specialized medical assistants is an integral part of the quality of patient care in teaching hospitals. Recognizing the educational problems of assistants and trying to solve these problems will have a positive effect on the treatment process of patients.
