Introduction: Clinical training is a fundamental part of education, and without it, it would be impossible to train efficient and competent people for the health system. Identifying the problems in clinical education and correcting them will improve the quality of medical services. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of clinical education from the perspective of medical interns in selected hospitals in Tehran.
Methods: The present quantitative-descriptive study was conducted on 70 medical interns of Imam Reza and Golestan Hospitals in Tehran by census method. The tool for collecting information was four researcher-made questionnaires regarding the educational round, morning report, clinical training, and educational grand round. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 22 software.
Results: The findings showed that from the perspective of the internal group, the highest score was related to the educational round. In the surgery group, the morning report had the highest score, 72.07. Holding the educational grand round in the pediatric group scored 45.43. In all 4 examined items of the Gynecology group, the score obtained was below 50%.
Conclusion: The quality of clinical training in internal and surgery groups was evaluated favorably. Educational rounds and grand rounds in pediatric groups are not of good quality. The quality of Gynecology education is not good in any of the studied areas. It is recommended that the education of pediatric and gynecology groups be reviewed and the quality of education continuously evaluated until the results are achieved.
