Introduction: Education, as manifested through teachers’ classroom instruction, is a multifactorial and interconnected phenomenon that encompasses aspects ranging from teachers’ quality of life to their cognitive–emotional functioning. Therefore, the present study aimed to examine the relationship between teaching orientation and social–emotional skills with quality of life among female upper secondary school teachers.
Methods: This descriptive–correlational study employed structural equation modeling (SEM) to investigate the relationships between teaching orientation and social–emotional skills among 230 female upper secondary school teachers in Tehran (Districts 1 and 2). Data were collected using validated questionnaires, and analyses were conducted using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, multiple regression analysis, and structural equation modeling with SPSS and AMOS software.
Results: The findings indicated that the relationship between goal orientation and quality of life was not statistically significant (standardized regression coefficient = 0.179, p = 0.316). In contrast, learning social skills showed a positive and statistically significant relationship with teachers’ quality of life (standardized regression coefficient = 0.189, p = 0.020).
Conclusion: The results clearly demonstrate that while goal orientation does not have a significant relationship with quality of life, learning social skills is positively and significantly associated with teachers’ quality of life. These findings emphasize the importance of social skills learning in improving teachers’ quality of life.
